The Episcopal parish of Saint Luke and Saint Margaret in Allston, Massachusetts was graced with the ministry of Dr. Roger Graybill at the organ. My friend Dr. Julie Lytle introduced me to him on a visit there in October of 2005. Julie mentioned that he would resign from that post come the following year and asked if James and I would be interested in writing a hymn to celebrate his ministry and send him off with their best wishes. We were delighted to do so, and this tune was half of the result. The congregation invited us to the farewell party where the premiere was sung on February 22, 2006.
