E. Wayne Bradford spent most of his professional musical life at Christ Church, Summit, New Jersey, where I had the good fortune to be his colleague on the music staff. For his twenty-fifth anniversary as organist/choirmaster there, the adult choir sent him to France to study with Oliver Messaien. Before he left, we sent him off with a service, for which this tune and a hymn of praise was written.
